A Collection of Mini Reviews

About a month ago I bought myself some new skincare goodies, and after a while of using them, I think it’s about time for some reviews!
I purchased the Peter Thompson Roth Mask Frenzy which includes 6 different mini masks. I already reviewed one in a separate post (go check it out if you haven’t read it!) but I think it will get too repetitive if I create a separate post for each one. So here it is, a collection of mini reviews…
The first one I’ll start off with is the “24K Gold Mask”. This is targeted as an anti-aging mask, and at 22 I don’t think this is really for my skin type, but there’s just something so glam about putting gold on my face so I was pumped to try it out. It looks so pretty in the tub and even more pretty on the face! I felt like a glowing Greek goddess when I had it on. I honesty can’t comment about the anti-aging results, because well, my skin just hasn’t aged that much! So I probably wouldn’t repurchase this just because it’s not catered to my skin type at this point in my life. But I will for sure finish it just because of how pretty it looks!
The next one I want to talk about is the “Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask”. When I opened this it wasn’t really what I was expecting. It was more of a jelly-like texture rather than a clay like I had predicted. It claims to be purifying, detoxing and meant to draw out impurities but I’m not sure if I really saw that! With clay masks, I can actually see the dirt and oil being extracted as it dries, and I didn’t get that result with the jelly like texture. I’m a person who likes instant gratification, I like to see the results right away, and my skin didn’t really look any smoother or different after using this! I would opt for clay based formula for any black masks in the future.
The next one I absolutely LOVE. It’s the “Hungarian Thermal Water Mineral-Rich Atomic Heat Mask”. WOW what a mouthful. This is meant to nourish and help smooth out the skin to keep it looking younger. Again, this is meant for anti-aging so you would think I wouldn’t see a lot of benefits, but my skin was SO smooth after using this. My boyfriend even used it and heĀ couldn’t stop touching his face after. The texture is strange, it’s like a putty like texture, so you just scoop a tiny bit out and spread it over the face. It’s pretty intense in that you should only keep it on your face for 3 minutes, but it’s so cool because after the wait you use cold water to massage it in, but as you do this, it starts to feel HOT on the face. It’s the weirdest sensation but it’s awesome because it really makes me think that it’s doing something. I take the rest off with a small face towel and my skin is as smooth as a baby’s butt afterwards LOL.
The next two I’m going to lump together because they are very similar. The first is the “Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme De-Tox Hydrator”. What is it with PTR and these long ass names :P. This is just meant to be extremely soothing and hydrating. The 2nd one is called “Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask” which is targeting fine lines and wrinkles with brightening benefits. They both have the same clear jelly like texture and both feel super hydrating. However, I have super oily skin and hydration isn’t one of my main focus when looking for a skincare product. Both feel nice and are good for the odd time my skin is feeling parched, but they aren’t really meant for my skin type so I’m not sure if these would be a repurchase!
And finally, we have the Glow Recipe “Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask”. I bought this on a whim. It was in the small goodies section when you’re in the line at Sephora, and I feel like everyone and their mother were talking about this product so I just gave in and quickly grabbed it. But now I’m kind of wishing I hadn’t! It’s a cute product, it’s pink and smells like a jolly rancher, it should be right up my alley. However, I have the same problem with this as the two masks above, it’s a hydrating product and not really for my skin type! Like I said before I’m a person who loves instant gratification, and I’ve used this product nighty for a while and I don’t really see a difference! It would be great for someone with really dry and flaky skin.
So all in all I would say my recent skincare haul was semi successful LOL. I loved about half the things I bought and just felt okay about the others. But I love a good face mask either way so I’m sure all of these will get used up eventually!

New Skincare Goodies – Sarah

In the spirit of Christmas, obviously I had to treat myself to a present. I’ve been super into skincare lately and Sephora has a lot of really good value skin sets, so I couldn’t resist LOL.

My first and most favourite think I got was the Peter Thompson Roth mask sampler. These masks are so expensive on their own, and here you get 6 for less than $100! It was too good to pass up.

And the next item was an impulse buy. I bought the infamous watermelon sleeping mask that everyone has been raving about for a while. I’m interested to see if it’s as good as everyone says it is!

Keep in mind this is just a haul, but I plan to do reviews on each of these in the future!
